Sanctuary of Grace Church was founded in March 2009 by a group of Christians who felt that they were called to plant a church in Tauranga that had a Filipino Ethnic Call. Initially birthed from Life Church Tauranga under the leadership of Ps. Andrew & Liz Warren who had encouraged a Filipino ethnic fellowship to begin. Since then, SGC as it now is fondly called,  has since given birth to three other churches in the Bay of Plenty. SGC is flourishing and growing as a nondenominational-multicultural church with the hope of serving the communities in our city and other nations.

Sanctuary of Grace Church is a registered New Zealand trust with charitable status. As any organization we are funded through donations and tithing through our membership. The tithes and donations received are used according to our charitable purpose and the administration of the services the church are involved with.

Isaiah 61: 1b – He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God,to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
